Yoruba
tribe traditional percussion
These
are the traditional style Yoruba tribe shekeres from the Western part
of Nigeria. They always come with cowry shell beads.
You
can play these many ways, by shaking, twisting, tapping, pulling on the
netting, etc. Since the gourd has an open top, you can get a "bass
bop" tone by hitting the bottom of the gourd with the palm of your
hand as you play.
These
are made in the traditional Yoruba style-very authentic.
