African Telephones !
These
log drums, or obrom as they are called in Nigeria, are hand-carved from
a solid log using only a chisel, hammer, and machete.
With
2 or 4 distinct tones, they are used to communicate within a village using
a method similar to our Morse Code. They have a beautiful resonance and
sound great at drum circles because their tone cuts through the sound
of many other drums.
Each
log drum comes with two mallets and the larger two sizes also come with
a woven stand.
