Traditional Ghana Drum

Our Kpanlogo drums are adapted from the traditional style drum to make them more durable. Instead of the traditional method of sewing through the skins, we designed ours with a Djembe 2-ring system, so there are no punctures through the skins. Otherwise, the tuning is the same, by tapping the pegs tighter into the body of the drum.

These Kpanlogo drums are made by the best carvers in Ghana and each one is very consistent in size and shape. The bearing edges are perfect. We use a cow skin to give a warmer tone. At 2/3 the standard size, these small Kpanlogos have a nice high pitch reminiscent of a Quinta Conga.
