Nigerian Double Agogo Bells

These double bells, played with a stick (included), form the beat of many traditional dances, most notably the annual Yam Festival. Made from recycled metal by one man (famous in Nigeria for his gong-making expertise), each bell is forged completely by hand and therefore each has a unique tone. This style double bell is the archetype for Brazilian agogo bells. Agogo comes from the Ibo word meaning "time".
